TOTAL COST E20 N/A $116.28 $5,000,000 EDUCATION DESIGN SHOWCASE T he damon J. keith center for civil rights will serve a dual role for the Wayne State University Law School Campus, both as a program expansion to the existing law school as well as a showcase for American civil rights. The building is designed as a dedication to a lifelong advocate for equal justice. The existing law school program will beneft from the new two-story addition, as it will provide new classroom/seminar space, a 60-seat lecture hall with dual projection and distance-education opportunities and offces to satisfy the American Bar Association faculty to student ratio requirements for accreditation. The main level will accommodate a new event space, conference rooms and a law clinic. The law clinic will offer opportunities for students to engage and learn the craft of law with patrons who do not have the means to hire legal consulting. Through the use of sustainable materials, a vegetative roof and energy-effcient mechanical systems, the project is on track for LEED Silver status. EDS
