SMALL-SCALE SUSTAINABILITY
With sustainability in mind for the renovation of the
Veterans Center at William Patterson University in
Wayne, NJ, CRI Green Label Plus-certified carpet
was selected. The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI)'s
Green Label program tests carpet, cushions, and
adhesives in order to identify products with very
low emissions of VOCs, and Green Label Plus specifically tests carpet and adhesives. This enhanced
program sets an even higher standard for IAQ.

will dramatically reduce the cooling load during the summer months
and allow heat gain during the winter
months, saving energy year round.
Comprised of operable windows, the
south wall will allow users to regulate
passive cooling on temperate days. The
introduction of outside air also creates
a healthier environment by replacing
stale air with fresh, allowing for additional air exchange during the day.
