P R O D U C T S T H AT W O R K THE CBORD GROUP, INC. {what's new & noteworthy} Video Security Improves Safety, Bottom Line T HE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI (Ole Miss) is improving security and reducing shrink by tying video surveillance to receipt data at the point of sale with the Point-of-Sale (POS) Video Security solution from CBORD. In the integrated solution, NiceVision video surveillance works together with Agilence's Hawkeye application to pair video with MICROS receipt data in real time. This system integrates video and transaction data, allowing staff to click on each menu item in an electronic receipt and view still images or video of that specific point in the transaction. Employees can monitor video in real time, or they can query the system for video tied to a wide variety of criteria: sales amount, payment type, menu item, cashier, etc. This makes it easy to determine, for example, whether a specific cashier has a history of ringing up sales incorrectly. 0D[LPL]H\RXUFDUG WHFKQRORJ\RQHVDIH VWXGHQWDWDWLPH ,PSURYHVDIHW\ 'ULYHUHYHQXH 5HGXFHFRVWV /HDUQKRZDW ZZZFERUGFRP With just a few keystrokes, the details of applicable transactions can be displayed with correlating video — without combing through hours of video footage and transaction records. The monitoring system discourages customers and employees alike from engaging in criminal activities — and it aids University police in investigations when those activities do occur. "The system is a great tool to help managers recover costs, identify cashier training needs, track sales trends, and keep a close eye on our business," says Kathy Tidwell, manager of Contractual Services at Ole Miss. "But first and foremost, it helps us keep our students and staff safer."
