dean of faculty position, and provide support for summer advising. Also as part of the FYE program, Hamilton College plans to raise and/or invest the resources necessary to renovate and reconfigure six existing residence halls to accommodate first-year clusters. Housing first-year students together will create an immediate sense of community while also encouraging class unity and providing an essential anchor of stability for those experiencing adjustment challenges, according to the proposal. The College also plans to expand its Residential Engagement in Academic Life program, offering approximately 100 (or roughly one-quarter) of first-year students the option of living in a cluster while sharing a common academic experience by taking one of several specific seminar classes. Michigan State Introduces Campus Food Truck Michigan State University (MSU) Culinary Services has introduced a new dining option on campus with a food truck, Eat at State On-the-Go, serving burgers, sandwiches, salads, snacks, and drinks year-round. The food truck will also be serving at fall football games. The truck will be offering menu items with campus and local ingredients — greens grown at the MSU Student Organic Farm, beef raised on campus, cheese from the MSU Dairy Store, desserts from the MSU Bakers, and bread baked locally at Breadsmith Artisan Bread Bakery of Okemos, MI — as part of the Grown at MSU program. The food truck contains a flat-top grill, a hot box, a bakery cabinet, a refrigerator, a quiet generator, and a three-compartment sink. The vehicle was designed in cooperation with the company Mobi Munch. The Ingham County Health Department vetted and approved plans and conducted food and work safety inspections. Culinary Services is a department of the Division of Residential and Hospitality Services at Michigan State University. CPM MAY 2013 / COLLEGE PLANNING & MANAGEMENT 9
