NMSU Offers Housing for Student Veterans New Mexico State University (NMSU) will become the fi rst and only university in the nation to offer housing specifically designated for student-veterans and their families transitioning out of the military and into student life. The fi rst groups moved in at the beginning of February. The Student Veterans' Association of NMSU, a student organization that helps veterans transition to university life, has worked in conjunction with NMSU's Department of Housing and Residential Life DESIGN for COMMUNITY A-I-424 (patent pending) with optional perforated tabletop in optional titanium. This move will create a community of student veterans within the family housing area on the NMSU campus. "The Department of Housing and Residential Life is very happy to provide a needed service to our student-veterans as they transition out of active duty," says Julie Weber, the director of NMSU's Housing and Residential Life. "It is our hope that a veterans-dedicated area of our Student Family Housing community will offer some of the support they need in order to be successful at NMSU." Keene State College Earns Energy-Efficiency Payback New Hampshire's Keene State College (KSC) reports that $150,000 has been received from Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) in association with the New Equipment & Construction Rebate Program for building systems equipment installed in the College's new Technology, Design, and Safety (TDS) Center, which opened in October of 2012. Sustainability is being infused into every aspect of the KSC community, from recycling, to the use of natural cleaners, to efforts to achieve energy efficiency. Rebates from PSNH provide incentives for additional investments in energy savings technologies, and they reward investments that provide recurring financial and energy savings. Keene State's efficiency rebate is a result of the heating, ventilation, lighting, and air conditioning systems that were chosen for the TDS Center. All of the equipment that was chosen for the building, which houses significant equipment investments for students studying Sustainable Product Design and Innovation, Architecture and Safety, and Occupational Health Applied Sciences, was made to bring the building to the highest standards for energy efficiency in new construction.
